He was born into slavery in Diamond,Missouri and died in Tuskegee Alabama

He was a botanist,inventor, scientist, and a chemist.

Carver developed hundreds of products using the peanut, sweet potatoes and soybeans. He also was a champion of crop rotation and agricultural education. Many people say that he created peanut butter. They say this because he was a botanist and mashed up peanuts and made peanut butter.

Carver won a Spingarn medal.The Spingarn Medal is awarded annually by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People for outstanding achievement by an African American.
