Diet-what They Eat

An ocelot's diet is mostly meat. What they eat is pretty small. The animals that it eats are rabbits, lizards, snakes, frogs, monkeys and birds. They love to eat meat. This is what they eat on a daily basis.

Where They Live In The Rain Forest

Ocelots mostly live in the Brazilian rain forest. They like to live in grasslands,savannas and the rain forest. These cats love to play around in the tall grass of the savanna. They mostly live in moist and damp places though.

Which Continent Does it Live in

WHICH CONTINENT DOES IT LIVE IN. AN OCELOT LIVES IN THE HIGHER PART OF BRAZIL. THEY USUALLY LIVE IN THE SAVANNAS. THE SAVANNAS ARE ALMOST IN THE CENTER OF BRAZIL. BUT THE OCELOT MOSTLY LIVES IS IN MEXICO.

Size- Height, Weight, Length

The ocelots weigh 18 to 44 pounds that’s not a lot of weight. The length of an ocelot is 2.2-3.3 feet. It did not tell me it’s length of and ocelot. These animals are not that big.

Predators

An ocelot’s predators are jaguars, Harpy Eagles and Anacondas. The smaller the ocelot the more danger it’s in. The ocelots are quite small. They look like they're the size form up to my knee done.

Names for Babies, Mom and Dad also the Group

The name for the mother Ocelot is queen. The dad’s name is a tom. The baby is called a kitten. The group name is a litter for the ocelots. Animals have many different names for different types of animals.

What Family Is It In

The family that the ocelot lives in is the Felidae family. That means that it is a predator. The thing is that a predator is a meat eater. They do not eat plants at all.

Special Features

An ocelots special features are one it has orange yellow and black and that acts as camouflage. Another special feature is it sleeps during the day and hunts at night. It moves in water trees and tall grass. The ocelot is a beautiful creature but they are being hunt down for their colorful fur.

It’s Scientific Name

An ocelots name is different than the other names that it has. The name that I am going to tell you about is it’s scientific name. The name is leopardus pardalis. It is a name that a scientist named it.
