HELLO PARENTS!
We are turning the corner and are headed towards spring! Can we get an Amen?! There is a fresh season on the horizon and we are excited to see students leading the way, diving deep and soaking up all that God has for them. We are seeing a new hunger in students and are honored to walk alongside them as they discover new ways to activate their faith. We can't wait to see what God does this month!
APRIL SERIES | VIRTUE SIGNALS
We live in a world that is FULL of “virtue signaling”. This is the idea of publicly expressing your opinions or sentiments in an effort to prove your moral correctness or good character around what is being talked about in society. “Virtue signaling” is a false sense of virtue and character. However, the Bible speaks consistently about what TRUE VIRTUE is. In Matthew chapter 5 verses 3-12, Jesus outlines true aspects of virtue through the Beatitudes. In this series we will be breaking down this passage and helping students understand how biblical virtue differs from worldly virtue. The world is NOT CHANGED by what we say, but rather, by HOW WE LIVE and WHOSE WE ARE.
FINE ARTS FESTIVAL
FINE ARTS LATE REGISTRATION CLOSES APRIL 8TH!
We believe each student has unique talents and gifts that God has given to them and Fine Arts allows your student to grow and be developed in those giftings. On May 8th, they will compete and perform anything from a solo or group song, dance, drama, photography and so much more. Informational meetings will be happening at each campus, connect with your student's Youth Pastor for more information!
YTH CAMP
JULY 19th - 23rd 2021 | Lake Geneva Christian Center in Alexandria, MN
YTH Camp registration will open on May 5th 2021. All registration details will be listed on our website however, registrations & payments are processed via the district managed site 'Campwise' and not River Valley Church. The link will be provided on our website once registration opens.
REGISTRATION DETAILS:
For current 6-12th grade students (*All Jhi & Shi students will be separate for Rec, Small Groups & Rooming.)
Early-Bird Registration Opens May 5th: $285
Early Bird Registration Closes June 10th
Scholarship & Discount Application Deadline: June 11th
Late Registration June 11th-17th: $330.00
Registration Closed June 17th (No late registrations will be accepted)
DISCOUNT & PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS:
We will start accepting applications for discounts & scholarships on May 5th 2021. If you would like to be considered for a discount or scholarship, you must complete the application prior to registration. If you would like an application, please email youth@rivervalley.org
River Valley Church offers a 50% single-parent discount, 15% sibling discount or partial scholarships upon application approval. Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email with direction to register your student. All applications must be received no later than June 11th 2021.
NATIONAL FINE ARTS
This year is a National Fine Arts year!! Students will compete on a district level on May 8th 2021. If your student advances to Nationals they have an opportunity to travel with River Valley YTH to Orlando, Florida to compete on a national level. Information packets will be given to students who qualify on May 8th, but with the tight turn around and a desire to help you plan, we have included a link to view them here. Every penny raised at YTH is sent to missionaries around the world so they can bring the light of the Gospel to the darkest places on earth. Our partnering organization, Speed the Light, turns our generosity into tangible resources that our missionaries need to accomplish the work they are called to.
