Senior Night

Saturday, November 10th was the final Senior Night hosted in St. John Arena for Seniors Audra Appold, Olivia Dailey, Taylor Hughes, Jasmine Koonts and Technical Coordinator Andrew Fischer. Appold, a unanimous selection to the 2015 All Big Ten Freshman Team racked up three conference Freshman of the Week Awards in her rookie season, the most ever by a Buckeye. Dailey, a 2016 AVCA All-American, racked up a career-high 62 assists in her final match as a Buckeye, leading the team in assists per set this season. Hughes finished her career ranked 8th in all-time assists and 6th in assists per set, while being named an All-American in 2016. Koonts’s career was cut short due to injury, after transferring to Ohio State at the start of her junior year, but spent the summer working in the Creative Services department for Athletics. Fischer has been with the team for four years, and during his tenure the senior class has racked up 74 wins and taken two trips the NCAA Sweet 16.

Buckeyes vs. Golden Gophers

The final match in St. John Arena came down to the wire as the Buckeyes pushed the #3 Golden Gophers to a fifth set Saturday, November 17th. The game was a thriller, complete with a guest appearance from a bat swooping around the court and in the crowd during Set 2. You can see the bat being captured below, but don’t worry, we set it free!

Buckeyes Sign Four

Four Student-Athletes officially joined the Buckeye Family earlier this month including Outside Hitter Gabby Gonzales, Middle Blocker Reilly MacNeill, Libero Kylie Murr, and Setter Mac Podraza. This group is ready to represent the Scarlet and Gray after decorated high school careers – All four athletes were recently named Under Armour All-Americans. Go Bucks!!
