[9/15] - Women's Cross Country Upsets Embry-Riddle at ERAU Classic ... Four different runners finished in the top 15 and Florida Southern College women's cross country upended Embry-Riddle on Saturday at the ERAU Classic. The Moccasins came in second overall, first among Division II teams at the meet, by compiling 60 points. The finish gives the Mocs tremendous momentum as ERAU entered the meet ranked No. 2 in the South Region after being selected to win the Sunshine State Conference. The Eagles were also ranked just outside the USTFCCCA Top 25 as a team receiving votes (read more).

[9/15] - Men's Cross Country Takes Second at ERAU Classic ... Mason Jones paced Florida Southern College men's cross country by posting a fifth-place finish, and the Moccasins put together another strong showing by taking second in the Embry-Riddle Asics Classic on Saturday morning. The Mocs also saw runners finish 12th (Dean McGregor) and 15th (Josh Wagner) as they tallied 68 total points to finish well ahead of third-place Flagler and in front of a number of Division I opponents (read more).

[9/17] - Florida Southern Sweeps Men’s Soccer Players of the Week ... Following its 2-1 overtime win at Lynn on Saturday, the Florida Southern men's soccer team swept the Sunshine State Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards with James Meehan bringing home that honor for the offense and Benny Yusufoglu claiming it for the defense. It's the first time in three years the Moccasins won both of the weekly SSC awards (read more).

James Meehan's overtime goal lifted the Mocs to a 2-1 win over Lynn on Saturday.

[9/14] - Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #16 (September 25, 1978) ... When the Sunshine State Conference was founded in 1975, it was created as a basketball conference first with other sports to follow. Many of the six charter members (Biscayne, Eckerd, Florida Southern, Rollins, Saint Leo, and UCF) had long-standing relationships with each other through the Florida Intercollegiate Conference, which continued to play soccer as a league until 1976. The SSC adopted soccer soon after, and in 1978, crowned its first champion in that sport in a tournament hosted by Florida Southern at Barnett Field. The first game in the first SSC Men's Soccer Tournament on September 25, 1978, is No. 16 on our list (read more).

[9/15] - Overtime Goal by Meehan Lifts Florida Southern to 2-1 Win at Lynn in Conference Opener ... James Meehan scored a little over five minutes into overtime after a fantastic game by goalkeeper Benny Yusufoglu in regulation time as Florida Southern knocked off 15th-ranked Lynn 2-1 in the Sunshine State Conference opener for both teams. The win pushes the Moccasins' record to 5-0 for the first time since 1997 (read more).

[9/18] - Men’s Soccer Team Moves into Top-25 for the First Time Since 2010 ... For the first time in eight years, the Florida Southern men's soccer team has landed in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll, with the Moccasins at No. 18 in the September 18 rankings. The Mocs have earned that spot following their first 5-0 start since 1997, which included shutout wins over Trinity Baptist, South Carolina Aiken, Montevallo (AL), and Newberry (SC) to start the season before a 2-1 overtime win at then-No. 15 Lynn on Saturday (read more).

[9/18] - Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #15 (October 22, 1988) ... Florida Southern has had several wins over nationally ranked teams since polls became a regular part of the landscape in the early to mid-80s. What is interesting to note in the case of the Moccasin men's soccer team though is how most of their biggest wins have come on the road. Four times Florida Southern has beaten a top-10 team and only one of those games took place at Barnett Field. Even a win over top-ranked Barry in 2000 was played on the road, so Trevor Clark's performance that night will have to wait for another list to be detailed fully. Instead, the No. 15 game on this list is the first time Florida Southern ever beat a ranked team, and that did occur at Barnett Field in a game against Randolph-Macon on October 22, 1988 (read more).

[9/15] - Florida Southern Defeated by Lynn in SSC Opener ... Florida Southern College women's soccer was unable to overcome a late first-half goal by Lynn University. The Moccasins (2-4-1, 0-1 SSC) recorded 12 shots on the evening to the Fighting Knights (3-2-0, 1-0) 10. Lynn broke the scoreless tie with a chip shot in the 41st minute (read more).

[9/15] - Higgins' 72 has Moccasins Now Alone in Second at Lady Falcon Invitational ... Senior Tori Higgins soared up the standings Saturday with an even-par 72 to end the day tied for sixth, and four other Moccasins were in the top-20 as fifth-ranked Florida Southern stands alone in second place with one round remaining in the Lady Falcon Invitational (read more).

[9/16] - Women's Golf Starts Season with Runner-up Finish at Lady Falcon Invitational ... For the second day in a row, Tori Higgins had Florida Southern's best score of the round, and along with Loren Perez gave the Moccasins two of the top-10 golfers in the field for a runner-up team finish in the season-opening Lady Falcon Invitational. It's the sixth time in the last 10 years Florida Southern has either won the Lady Falcon Invitational or finished second (read more).

[9/14] - Mocs Drop Road Match at Lynn ... Despite holding a 2-1 lead after three sets, Florida Southern College volleyball was unable to close things out in a 3-2 road loss at Sunshine State Conference rival Lynn on Friday night at the de Hoernle Center. The Moccasins (6-5, 1-2 SSC) went up by a set after a thrilling 26-24 victory in the third but the Fighting Knights (7-3, 1-2) used a 25-15 win in the fourth set to take back momentum and never trailed in the fifth and final set, willing by a 15-9 final (read more).

[9/15] - Volleyball Unable to Slow Down Undefeated Barry ... Florida Southern College volleyball was unable to upend undefeated Barry University on Saturday, falling 3-0 at the Health and Sports Center. [9/18] - eSports Records Three Rocket League Wins ... Florida Southern College eSports picked up three wins in Rocket League action over the weekend, with four contests on Saturday and one on Sunday. The Moccasins (3-4) defeated North Carolina, NC State, and Florida Tech, but fell to Charlotte and Texas Tech in College Rocket League (CRL) Southern Conference qualifying matchups. Florida Southern's record in qualifying was not enough to earn an automatic bid to the CRL playoffs but does put the Mocs in a favorable seeding position for the Open Ladder season, and a shot to earn a wildcard berth to the CRL playoffs in October (read more).

[9/14] - Registration Now Open for Joe Niekro Pro-Celebrity Golf Tournament ...
