Have an authentic Italian family feast at Mama Lou’s Italian Kitchen!

Italian food has always been about celebrating family and tradition. And a trip to Mama Lou’s is a perfect way to savor family-style and Italian comfort food favorites without spending too much time slaving in your own kitchen.

Since it opened in 2010, Mama Lou’s Italian Kitchen currently stands out as one of the best authentic Italian neighborhood restaurants within and outside of Manila. From its humble beginnings of being an old house along BF Homes that the owners have been wanting to sell for so long, it turned into a haven where you get a taste of the family’s Italian and even a few French dishes. It has also become one of the most successful and award-winning enterprises to date, and is listed as one of the Best Restaurants of 2016 by Philippine Tatler Dining.

At Mama Lou’s, you can choose from a wide variety of appetizers, soups and salads, pastas, pizzas, mains and desserts paired with their refreshing drinks. Start off your Italian family feast with appetizers that are perfect for groups. There’s the City Sampler – a hefty plate composed of chicken wings, fried calamari, Italian garlic sausage and nacho chips with tartar, Pomodoro and cheese sauces); the lovely Cheese Platter has slices of brie, camembert, cheddar and gorgonzola; and the Sausage Platter is a party plate made with schublig, kielbasa Italian garlic and Hungarian sausages.

Mama Lou’s also serves great tasting pastas in a variety of bases like tomato, olive oil and cream. Aside from the fan favorites such as Truffle Mac & Cheese and Vesuvio, devour yourself with classic favorites like their hearty Lasagna, Ravioli Spinaci (Spinach, Mushroom & Ricotta Stuffed Ravioli) and Pasta Al Negro Di Seppia (Squid Ink Pasta with Chili in Squid Ink Sauce).

The pizzas at Mama Lou’s are all made with love, complete with a signature thin crust dough, topped with only the finest ingredients and each served with arugula and alfalfa sprouts. Must tries include their Pizza Bianca (with cream, mozzarella, garlic sausage, mushrooms and onions) and the classics such as Frutti Di Mare (Seafood Pizza), Quattro Formaggi (Four Cheese) and the Mama Lou’s Special that’s made with prosciutto, mango, arugula and balsamic cream.

Then again, it is not all about just pizzas and pastas at Mama Lou’s. Call it a neighborhood’s open secret, but loyal customers would know that they also serve the most affordable meat and seafood dishes, all of these served with steamed veggies or mashed potatoes. Choose from Braised Short Ribs infused with red wine, tomatoes, carrots, olives and zucchini; enjoy a plate of either Fillet Mignon, Pan Fried Beef Scallopini or Marbled Rib Eye Steak; and be amazed with the Mozzarella stuffed Burger Steak. Lighter fares include the Salmon Grill served with lemon, butter and caper sauce and Grilled Tuna Belly that’s served with a fresh salsa made with onion, tomato and green bell pepper.

Of course, no feast is complete without having some dessert, and the house made cakes and pies at Mama Lou’s can definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. Kids of all ages will love their Chocolate Cake and Mama Lou’s Cheesecake. You can also try Italian desserts such as Tiramisu or some Cannoli paired with a cup of coffee.
