Having talked to Micky on Tuesday with a heavy heart I had to accept his reasons for leaving the club. Sometimes in life you have to put family and career first and I fully support Micky in his decision.
Micky has done so much for the club, he was the original manager when it started 5 years ago and laid the foundations for a successful team. Although he wasn't at the club when I first came you could see the evidence of his influence on the team. He was the first name I thought of to bring in and although it took a while I got him back to the club.
I can honestly say that over 18 years as a manager Micky has been the best Assistant Manager I have ever had. He brings qualities to the role that are sometimes missing in modern football, honesty, loyalty and a friendly attitude towards everybody.
Without him the club would not be the success it has been and I wish him all the best for the future in all he undertakes.
I will take a little time to see who can come in and replace him, it will be a difficult thing for me to do. All at the club will be immensely sorry to see Micky go and as an Assistant and friend I will miss him.
He has said he will come and watch us and I know if I need some advice he is only a phone call away.
Good luck Micky from myself and everybody at the club and as we say ONCE A BULL ALWAYS A BULL!!
