Shakespeare made an impact on the world through his writing influence on Modern English, and his contributions to theatre.
Shakespeare’s Early Life. First, "Shakespeare’s parents belonged to what today would be called the middle class. John Shakespeare, William’s father, was a glove maker who owned a shop in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon"(Lander). Shakespeare was born in a town called Stratford. Shakespeare was in the middle class (What we call it today). Shakespeare's early life ultimately helped him become the person he was. He got education and was very smart as you could already tell… Second "Beginning at about the age of 7, William probably attended the Stratford grammar school... The school’s highly qualified teachers were graduates of Oxford University... Students spent about nine hours a day in school"(Lander). Shakespeare went to school at a young age (back then) and learned grammar fast. Shakespeare had a good education at a young age. It fits in with what is known about Shakespeare. that he was a bright man, and had a very good vocabulary. Finally, “Shakespeare in 1592, when he was an actor and playwright in London. His actions during the seven-year interim have been a matter of much curious speculation”(Harold). In 1592 Shakespeare was an actor, and started to become a little bit interested in plays. Shakespeare was in a playwright in London and became in love with it. Shakespeare started to get into plays and acting and little did he know, he was going to be one of the most famous writers and playwrights ever. In conclusion, Shakespeare had a lot going for him as a kid.
Next, Shakespeare’s Middle life. First, "The London theater, in Shakespeare’s day, was composed of companies of men and boys, women were not allowed... The theaters were open to the air, had balconies surrounding the pit and stage" (Salem Press). Shakespeare was a big part of the Globe Theatre because, at that time, when Shakespeare was little, plays were not very popular. But it came back when he grew up and it was very popular when he started to write plays. Second, "Hamlet is one of the most psychologically powerful dramas ever written.. The role of Hamlet, in particular, is considered one of the theater's greatest acting challenges" (World Book). Shakespeare wrote the play Hamlet. Hamlet is one of Shakespeare's most famous plays besides Romeo And Juliet. Shakespeare was famous for his plays, and had made an impact on the world through his amazing writing. Also, "In 1599, the group raised enough money to build their own theater in Southwark, England, a suburb of London called the Globe Theatre"(Kesselring). Shakespeare built a theatre to perform his own plays. The theatre was a circle so that the sound was heard the same around the whole theater. There was balconies and people stood on the ground level. There were no chairs. The demand to see Shakespeare's plays were high. It was new at the time and people had nothing better to do (No Netflix, TV, etc). In conclusion, Shakespeare began getting interested in plays, and ended up making the Globe Theare.
Thus, Shakespeare’s late life was possible his prime. "Shakespeare was the ultimate professional writer... His masterpieces were Julius Caesar, Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, Macbeth" (Anderson). Shakespeare was the best at what he did, and his plays were some of the best written plays ever. "If Shakespeare were alive, he would be receiving $25,000 a week in royalties for one production of Othello alone" (Anderson). If Shakespeare were alive present time, he would make $25,000 for ONE PLAY! Just think about all of the plays that are played that he would get money for! "Shakespeare died on April 23rd, 1616, at the age 52... Carved over his grave: Good friend, for Jesus' sake forbear to dig the dust enclosed here! Blessed be the man that spares these stones and cursed be he that moves my bones. The bones have been undisturbed till this day" (Anderson). When Shakespeare died at age fifty two, he carved a quote on his grave under the church, to not disturb him, or if someone did, that person would be cursed forever. Shakespeare's works are still performed around the world. He is often credited with adding many popular words and phrases to the English vocabulary"(Kesselring). Even though Shakespeare had passed away, his work is still very famous even present time, Shakespeare is still an icon.Words that Shakespeare used in his writing and plays, later became words… In conclusion, Shakespeare left a legacy and is still very popular present time.
