If you have been collecting box tops for Smith, please drop them off by Monday, February 25th end of day.

The Box Top contest is happening right now! For every 10 box tops that are sent in, your child will be entered in a raffle to win a gift card to Dairy Queen or Taco Bell. Expired box tops do not count. Please make sure the bag or envelope is labeled so your student gets credit! The contest ends Monday, February 25. Smith Quiz Bowl Announcement

Congratulations to the 18 Smith Quiz Bowl kids that participated in the first ever Trojan Wars at Troy High this past Saturday. With a total of 4 teams, Smith advanced to the semifinals with both the A TEAM (Dennis Yang, Liam Kilpatrick, Sparsh Shrivastava, Achyudt Venkat) and B TEAM (Sarang Bhide, Vidhi Kamat, Shriya Kankatala, Steven Li). After an agonizingly close match, the A TEAM finished in first place which qualified them for the national championship in Chicago. Smith also had two players place in the top six for individual points scored. Congratulations Dennis Yang and Sarang Bhide on a job well done! A special thanks to our high school liaisons, Amogh Angadi and Anish Kotnis for their dedication and guidance and to Mr. Kwon and Mr. Venkat for coaching and keeping score during the tournament.

Important Online Scheduling Preparations for our current 6th grade and 7th grade parents

Parents: Next week our Smith counselors will be going into classrooms to introduce the process selecting classes and scheduling for next year with our students. Please go over the paper scheduling sheets that will be handed to your students next week with your child/children. Then complete the online scheduling through Powerschool Parent Portal. The online scheduling window will be open from February 22 through March 1. Please click on the link below to watch a tutorial video for how to complete online scheduling.

For those of you that did not set up a Powerschool Parent Login yet, Please reference the email from Kerry Birmingham on September 11, 2018. This email had login instructions. A previous email prior to September 11th contained your access information.

Important Scheduling Information for next year's Freshmen class

The following information provides scheduling timelines for both Athens and Troy High Schools

Attention all 7th Graders!! Early Registration is now OPEN for the 2020 Trip!

DC Early Registration Information:

The trip is tentatively set for departing the evening of February 15 and returning early in the morning on February 18, 2020. The registration form is available on the trip page on the Smith website

Students will have received informational packets after the field trip on February 7. You must register and submit a $49 non-refundable deposit by March 21, 2019 to hold your spot with the early-bird pricing of $839. After March 21 the price will go to $889. Final payment will be due by December 1, 2019.

A parent informational meeting for the 2020 trip to DC will be held on Thursday, February 21 at 6:30 PM in the media center. If you cannot make it, feel free to look at the resources on the website for registration packets and information from previous years. We will update the files as needed.

National History Day Project Celebration Reschedule

The National History Day Celebration has been rescheduled to February 27 from 7-8:30 pm at Boulan Park Middle School.

IM Wrestling Announcement

Intramural wrestling begins Wednesday, February 20th. Any interested boys in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade are invited to participate! A physical needs to be on file, or your child may bring a completed physical to the first practice. Practices will run from 3:15-4:45 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Testing out information

Math Test Date: April 27, 2019 (Saturday) 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Troy High School Gymnasium. Other course test out dates are to be determined. There will be an alternate test date for students that have a school related activity that conflicts with the April 27, 2019 test date. Please indicate on the application form that you will need the alternate date. Forms must be completed and turned into the counseling office by 3:03pm on March 20, 2019
