KumiThree Or, what I did last weekend

I started a new braid on Saturday morning. Feeling frisky from my last success, I decided to try something trickier. These lovely leather cords called out to me, so I listened.

Cord and cotton

I totally swagged how many strands of the perle cotton to use to balance the leather. It came out fairly even (as soon as I realized I needed more counterweight, that is) so I give myself a gold star there.

It's practically magic

This worked up so quickly, it took me completely by surprise. It makes sense, when I stop to think about it, but I didn't realize ahead of time that thicker cords would go so much faster. I did worry a bit that the leather would wear the notches on the disk, but no harm done. My thumbs got a workout, though.

It took no time at all to decide what to use as a pendant. Mom & Dad gave me this awesome Anne Choi bead years ago, and I just knew it would be perfect with this cord.

Sunday morning I broke out the wire and pliers and figured out how to put it all together. I'm pleased to say the end result is almost exactly what I had envisioned.

I love it when a plan comes together

One weekend (mornings only!) start to finish. Yep, completely addicted to kumihimo now.....
