J.R. Briggs Family Newsletter January 16th, 2019

No School Monday, January 21st

We are certainly off to a great start for the new year. The staff is refocused, the students are engaging in many unique learning opportunities, and everyone is still waiting for some snow (although it sounds like this weekend will solve that last problem). We are quickly coming up to Winter Conferences here at JRB. News on how to sign up will be distributed next week.

4th Grade NAEP Evaluation

Some of our 4th grade students have been randomly selected to participate in the NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) in February. If you watch the news or read articles about how great Massachusetts schools are doing, this is often one of the measuring points that is referred to. Approximately 2/3 of the grade will participate, with some students focusing on math and others on English. The total time away from the classroom is no more that 2 hours. More information will be coming home in the next few weeks to those that were randomly chosen to take part in this opportunity. To find out general information about the assessment, please click here.

Our Little Caesars ® "Super Bowl" Pizza Kit Fundraiser runs from January 11th through January 21st! Please turn in your Little Caesar's order forms and money by Tuesday, January 22nd. Remember: Delivery/Pick-up will be Thursday, January 31st between 3:00-7:00pm in the JRB Lobby! Thank you!

Please feel free to email Brenda Brown at bbrown@awrsd.org with any questions.
