DAINA ANGELES PORTFOLIO

INTRODUCTION

MY NAME IS DAINA ANGELES. I AM SIXTEEN YEARS OLD AND I AM A SOPHOMORE. I LOVE TO EAT AVOCADOS, DRINK BOBA AND WATCH CUTE PUG VIDEOS ON TWITTER. PLEASE ENJOY MY PORTFOLIO OF MY BEST OR FAVORITE PHOTOS. I LOVE YOU.

MY INTEREST IN PHOTOGRAPHY STARTED IN SEVENTH GRADE WHEN I FIRST JOINED YEARBOOK. I HAD REALIZED I HAD A PASSION FOR PHOTOGRAPHY AND KNEW I WANTED TO LEARN MORE AND EXPLORE INTO THE WORLD OF PHOTOGRAPHY. I have vast interest in scenic and nature photography. photography lets me experience the beauty of seeing things in new perspectives and having my creativity display through a photo.

COLOR SPLASH

I CHOSE THE COLOR SPLASH PROJECT FOR THE "REVISITED PROJECT" BECAUSE I LOVE TO WORK WITH PHOTOSHOP AND I FELT I COULD MAKE MY PHOTOS STRONGER. THE LAST TIME I DID THIS PROJECT, I TRIED TO FIND ANY BRIGHTLY COLORED OBJECT TO BE THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. MY MAIN GOALS FOR THIS PROJECT WAS TO BE MORE CREATIVE TO MAKE MY PHOTOS STRONGER BUT ALSO TELL A STORY THROUGH THE ELEMETS OF THE PHOTO.

DAY IN MY LIFE

THE FIRST PHOTO IS MY THIRD PERIOD CLASS. I MUST GO UP A RAMP TO ENTER THE CLASSROOM AND THE LOW ANGLE FROM THE GROUND GIVES A COOL LOOK WITH THE BLURRED RAILINGS ON THE SIDES OF THE PHOTOS. EACH DAY after SCHOOL, I HAD PRACTICE FOR VOLLEYBALL AT THE GYM. SINCE I WAS ALWAYS IN A RUSH, I NEVER HAD THE TIME TO LOOK AROUND AT THE SMALLER PLANTS ON CAMPUS, LIKE THIS SEEDED PLANT BETWEEN Q-COURT AND Q-HUT. FOR BOTH PHOTOS I HAD DIFFICULTIES WITH HAVING ASHALLOW DEPTH OF FIELD AND MAKING SURE THERE WERE NO DISTRACIONS IN THE PHOTO.

SPIRIT

THE FIRST PHOTO REPRESENTS TEAMWORK. TO TAKE THIS PHOTO I HAD THREE PEOPLE GATHER THEIR FINGERS TOGETHER TO RAISE AND SUPORT THIS LENS CAP. THE MEANING OF THIS PHOTO IS IF YOU WORK TOGETHER YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH THE GOAL, IN THIS CASE TO SUPPORT AND HOLD THE CAP UP HIGH. IF ONE PERSON TAKES AWAY THEIR FINGER, THE LENS CAP WILL FALL BECAUSE IT TAKES THE HELP OF EACH PERSON, EVEN IF IT IS ONLY ONE FINGER. THE SECOND PHOTO REPRESENTS SCHOLARSHIP. TO TAKE THIS PHOTO, I WANTED TO SHOW THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION SO I TOOK A PHOTO OF DISPLAYS OF SAT/ACT HANDBOOKS. I STOOD AT AN ANGLE TO SHOW THE LIBRARY AND ALSO GET THE BRIGHT LIGHTS IN THE PHOTO TO REPRESENT AN EDUCATIONAL PATH IS A SUCCSESSFUL, BRIGHT PATH.

PORTRAITS

WHAT I THINK MAKES A GOOD PORTRAIT IS THE BEAUTY OF WHAT THE PHOTO CAN EXPRESS ABOUT THE PERSON.

MY MAIN GOAL OF THIS PHOTO WAS TO EMPHASIZE THE BEAUTY OF TIFFANY'S EYES. the close up of tiffany's face makes this a great portrait, especially the mesmerizing glare in her eyes.

mesmereyes

this portrait of Karen gives of a "fierce" vibe from the looks she is serving. her body language with her arm on her hip and smirk on her face makes Karen look confident. Her outfit and hairdo adds some personality and style to her.

This is a great portrait of tiffany because the gorgeous candid of her laughing gives off a happy vibe. The shallow depth of field focuses our attention to her and the emotion she is expressing through the photo.

HOME

the main challenge of this assignment was adjusting and playing around with the camera settings because we were indoor. in the first photo I had difficulties which angle would be best for the picture. In the second photo, I had difficulties getting all four birds in one frame. I think a good "homework" assignment would be using our creativity to look at things in different perspectives. This assignment would help us see the beauty of things we see everyday that we don't usually see as "beautiful."

MY YEAR (1ST HALF)

THIS YEAR I FELT I DID BEST WITH REALLY PUSHING MYSELF TO WORK HARD AND BECOME THE PHOTOGRAPHER I WANT TO BE. THIS YEAR I IMPROVED USING MY CREATIVITY AND ABILITIES TO TAKE STRONGER PHOTOS AND HAVE MEANING BEHIND THEM. I AM NOW MUCH MORE INVOLVED WITH PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO PRODUCTION OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL BECAUSE I HAVE LEARNED PHOTOGRAPHY IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL THING. I HAVE A PASSION FOR PHOTOGRAPHY AND WISH TO FUFILL THESE GOALS: 1)FULL UNDERSTAND THE CORRECT SETTINGS FOR CERTAIN SITUATIONS 2)BE MORE INVOLVED WITH PHOTOGRAPHY OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL(HAVING SHOOTS, ATTENDING SEMINARS) 3) THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX AND STEPPING OUTSIDE MY COMFORT ZONE TO TRY NEW THINGS WITH PHOTOGRAPHY. TO FULLY UNDERSTAND HOW TO MANAGE CAMERA SETTINGS I WILL KEEP ON TRYING AND ASK QUESTIONS IF I AM CONFUSED. I WILL MAKE TIME TO BE MORE INVOLVED WITH PHOTOGRAPHY OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL LIKE GOING SOMEWHERE SCENIC TO TAKE PHOTOS OR ASKING A FRIEND TO MODEL TO CAPTURE SOME PORTRAITS. LASTLY, I WILL BELIEVE IN MYSELF AND NEVR GIVE UP THAT I CAN BECOME THE PHOTOGRAPHER I WANT TO BE. I WILL KEEP WORKING HARD DESPITE THE CHALLENGES I MAY FACE.

THANKS!!!<3
