What dangers do you see as a person stranded on this deserted island.
i think that it would be most difficult to get food because of how big the island is and how many hiding spots the animals could hide in and you would need to make a good weapon to kill animals plus after that you would need to start a fire to cook the animal and boil water so you don't get sick from the water then your gonna need shelter but if you don't have tools you wont be able to do much especially make shelter because you would need to cut down a couple of trees and you would need an axe or an axe like thing to cut them down and you would need knife or spear to hunt and kill the animal and you would need wood for the fire too and you need the fire to get water and cook wood

the theme of ''lord of the flies'' is survival .The reason it is survival is because they are stranded on an island that is making them lose their mind and they are trying so hard to agree on one thing some people want fire and others want shelter and others want food and they just have to survive they do not want to die and its hard to find food on this island they cant get a fire to go. its just hard to survive
Ralph says "this is a good island" and it is most definitely not a good island for one they are going crazy and losing there minds and second there could be a beast stalking them and they dont even know it for sure they cant get anybody to see the smoke and they cant find any food they have only killed one pig this whole time
Writing from Simon’s point of view, have him explain what the Beast is to the younger boys.
Simon does not think there is a beast he thinks the beast is inside of everyone or they are just imagining things.
Name at least two things the boys are doing or have given up that show how they are now operating on instinct and no longer trying to follow the rules of society. Explain your answers with information from the text.
they have stopped caring about the conch and they have stopped trying to get smoke. They have stopped doing all this because they have given up on hope they thinks its useless they think they are not gonna be rescued anytime soon
we do rituals a lot and we don't even notice it like at funerals
- praying for the loved one
- bury them next to another person or by themselfs
- cremate them and throw their ashes in a place they love
Choose a character, either Ralph or Jack and explain the effect seeing the Beast has on the character you have chosen. Use textual information to support your answer.
Jack and Ralph both saw the "beast" and both had an effect because of that. Jack since he saw the "beast" he wanted nothing to do with it and he is trying to stay away from it and he said to "leave some of the kill for the beast"
Retell in your own words what has happened to Simon. Use textual evidence to help you create a vivid paragraph.
Simon had a talk with the lord of the flies and he was telling Simon that they were gonna kill him and "do him in". Later on Simon found out that they're was no beast it was inside everyone and the thing that they thought was the beast was actually just a dead parachutist stuck on some rocks, then he went to go tell everyone about it and they were all doing the ritual and Simon came in and they thought he was the beast and they done did him in just like the pig on a stick said .
In life people create groups. These groups might be at school, in sports, in extracurricular activities, and through religious organizations. Explain what needs groups fill for people. Explain both the positive and negative aspects of being part of a group. You may relate this to our novel, or you may make it a person reflection of your own experience.
There are good things about having a group but there are some downsides aswell . Some good things are like when your in trouble most of the time your group will help you in some way or when your feeling down they will try to make you feel better but there are still the bad things sometimes when you have a group and you cant always agree on one thing and you guys can get really mad at each other over something stupid
“Which is better - to have rules and agree, or to hunt and kill?”
Using this quote, take a stand. Pick a side and explain why your decision is best on this island here at the end of Chapter 11. Don’t forget to use textual evidence to support your answer.
its always good to have rules and agree because if there are no rules and nobody agrees on anything then the world would go crazy and on this island that's exactly whats happening and already three people have died because of that. With that said the island we be so much more calm and civilized if they had rules and followed them and agreed on one thing
"you will get home safely x3 "~Simon(pg 111)
i chose this quote and this picture because he knew that they would get home safely and get rescued. He also didn't say we he said you guys and later on in the story he was beaten to death by everyone. Then finally they got rescued at the end of the book
