Thesis: Shakespeare has made an impact on the world through his plays, acting, and his producing.

Quote #1: “Shakespeare's plays are still produced all over the world. During a broadway session in the 1980's one critic estimated that if Shakespeare were alive he would be recieving $25,000 a week in royalties for a production of Othello alone.”

Commentary: Shakespeare would have so much money and more recognition is he was alive because his plays are so popular. I wonder how many people liked Shakespeare's plays back when Shakespeare was alive.

Quote #2: “He was the most famous writer in the world, but he left us no journals or letters, he only left us his poems and plays."

Commentary: Shakespeare is a really talented and gifted writer that was good at everything he did. Shakespeare's passion was writing and theater he also acted.Shakespeare spent the most of his time writing, acting, and producing his plays.

Quote #3: "We know several years later, by 1592, Shakespeare has already become an actor and a playwright. By 1594, he was a charter member of the the theatrical company called the Lord Chamberlain's Men, Which was later to become the King's Men."

Commentary: Shakespeare was a member to a theatrical company called the Lord Chamberlain's men. I wonder how shakespeare had time to act and write plays at the same time.

Quote #4: " This difference between the appeal of a movie and the appeal of a play may account for the failure of some successful plays when they are translated to the screen."

Commentary:You can make more mistakes in play than in movies. In movies you can edit out the mistakes while in plays you can't because it is real life.I know that in movies you can edit out mistakes and in plays you can make mistakes that you can't edit out.

Quote #5: " It's important that we understand Shakespeare theater because it influenced how he wrote his plays. Shakespeare took the theater of his time, and used it brilliantly. In 1599, Burbage theater was torn down and its timbers were used by Shakespeare and his company to build Globe Theater."

Commentary: Shakespeare wrote most of his plays in his theater. And spent a lot of time in his theater mostly writing his plays .I wonder how much time he spent in his theater writing plays. Also I wondered how much Shakespeare theater was used.

Quote #6:" Theater in Shakespeare's days were different than today's plays. Plays were originally performed by the all male medieval trade gilded, so all women's parts were played by boys."

Commentary: All plays were played by boys. Later on they started to have women in their plays performed."How did boys like playing the role of a woman? How many plays were performed in my Shakespeare's theater.

Quote #7: "From mid- 1592 to 1594, London authorities frequently closed the theaters because of repeated outbreaks of plague. Without the income of acting and playwriting Shakespeare turned to poetry."

Commentary: Because of the illnesses going around Shakespeare turned to poetry because acting didn't have good income. I wonder how long it takes for the plague to go away and for everyone to get better.

Quote #8: "By 1612, Shakespeare had become England's most successful playwright. He apparently divided his time between Stratford and London. He had lodgings in London at least till 1604 and probably until 1611."

Commentary: Shakespeare tried to make time for both his poetry and Stratford and London because they were both very important to him.How did Shakespeare make all that time for both poetry and Stratford and London?

Quote 9: "Shakespeare 10 history plays deal with English kings and nobility. Nine of the play's concern events from 1398 to the 1540's. A knowledge of these events and of the Elizabethans' attitude toward their own ruler can help a playgoer or reader understand Shakespeare's histories."

Commentary: The plays go with English kings and nobility, which also gave people more knowledge.Shakespeare's plays help other people get more knowledge.

Quote 10: “After arriving in London, Shakespeare began an association with one of the cities repertory theater companies. These companies consists of a permanent cast of actors who presented a variety of plays week after week.”

Commentary: Shakespeare was very busy having a lot of plays to have people to preform. How did Shakespeare manage to act, produce, and right plays while he is constantly having plays weeks after weeks.
