THE BEATLES

The Beatles were an English band during the ‘60. They had a lot of success playing and singing a mix of jazz, blues, folk and rock’n roll. In a first moment they were schoolmates and they decided to make a band, called Qarryman.

When they started they were only John Lennon and Paul Mc Cartney. Than Ringo Starr and George Harrison joined the band.

In 1960 they became The Beatles

Their first album, “Please Please Me”, was published in 1963. The year later, “Love Me Do” was relased in the US and soon became a hit

In 1964 the band appared on The Ed Sullivan Show and started Beatlemania.In 1965 and in 1966 they played in New York, in the Philippines and Japan.

“More popular than Jesus” were the words John Lennon said. This wordsmade some people boycott them.

The Beatles played their final concert on 29 August, 1966. They became the most popular rock band of all time.

 Paul McCartney: Sir James Paul McCartney was born in June 18, 1942. He became famous as bassist of the Beatles, with John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. After Beatles he formed a band with his wife, later broken up. In 1997 he was appointed knighet by Queen Elisabet II;

 George Harrison: (Febuary 25 1943- November 29 2001) was a musician, actor and compositor- From 1960 to 1970 he was the guitarist and the singer of Beatles. After Beatles he became a solo artist;

 Ringo Starr: Ringo Starr was born in July 7 1940 in Liverpool. He was the drummer of the Beatles and sometimes he also sang a vocalist. When the band broke up he became an actor and vocalist;
