Digital Media and Film I
DMF I is an introductory level course intended to build skill sets in terminology, equipment set-up and usage, basic camera angles and movement, basic editing, and basic script writing. As with all CTAE courses, employability skills are practiced in all aspects of the class. Students are expected to learn the technical aspects of productions and exercise creativity in conceptualizing and executing productions to completion.
Digital Media and Film II
DMF II builds on DMF I and is more application and less theory. DMF II adds professional software Blackmagic Design's Davinci Resolve. This course explores professional equipment and situations and gives students production and editing opportunities. Students will work either on school support videos or create a short film. Students are guided in the process of developing a film from start to finish.
NOCTI
After completing DMF III, students will sit for the NOCTI exam. This is a certification test for the industry. Students who pass the exam will be NATIONALLY certified in TV PRODUCTION AND BROADCAST JOURNALISM. This is a NATIONAL certification and looks great on a resume. Students who make 80% or better on the exam may receive college elective credit at over 20 colleges and universities in Georgia and in colleges all over the United States.
