NATIVe- Indigenous Cinema 2019 Vision Maker Media attends the European Film Market

Vision Maker Media will be part of NATIVe – Indigenous Cinema, a market stand at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin. It showcases market-ready feature films by Indigenous artists from around the world. This initiative is presented by imagineNATIVE and 11 international partners including film festivals, film commissions, and film institutes. The Stand is presented within the framework of the Berlinale NATIVe special series. In addition to feature films, a roster of international Indigenous producers will be attending, with projects, including those of the NATIVe Fellows, promoted at the Stand for interested delegates.

Rebekka Schlichting (Ioway Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska) will represent Vision Maker Media. Vision Maker Filmmaker Brooke Swaney Pepion (Blackfeet Tribal Member & Salish Descendent) has been selected as a NATIVe Fellow. She has her MFA from NYU. A 2013 Native Arts and Cultures Fellow, a 2014 Sundance Native Lab Fellow and a Time Warner Fellow, her work has screened at Sundance, ImagineNative, the Autry and the Museum of Modern Art amongst others. She is versed in both short and long-form content creation. Brooke’s current project is Daughter of a Lost Bird.
