Hailey Massie “Be the change that you wish to see in the world."― Mahatma Gandhi

Hello! My name is Hailey Massie, and I am a sophomore here at ETSU. I am from Bristol, Tennessee, which is not too far from Johnson City. Growing up I always enjoyed creating stories and sharing them with people. As I got older I started to become interested in reporting and current events. This fascination led me to become a journalism major.
Deciding to attend ETSU has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. After graduating high school I wanted to move far away from home, but as time went by I found myself not being able to say goodbye to east Tennessee. Attending ETSU has allowed me to stay in the area that I call home but also gave me the resources and tools I need to succeed in the future.
Besides writing my other interests include film, hiking and traveling. As a child I can remember being so fascinated with other cultures and wondering why they were so different than me. Traveling and seeing other parts of the world has let me fully experience other cultures and traditions that are unfamiliar to me. My favorite travel destination would be the Mayan pyramid Chichén Itzá, which is located in Yucatán, Mexico.
I am simply a broke and tired college student trying to find my place in this world. I'm not quite sure what the future has in store for me, but I am excited to see where my education and passions take me.
