Determining the Importance of Character Development Mrs. Barker's 5th Grade class

Introduction: Today you will learn the importance of character development! You will learn about character traits, characterization, and so much more! Have fun!

Task:

Learn a little more about character development, determine the characteristics of a certain storybook character, and create your own fun character!

Remember: you can pause the video at ANY time if you need extra time to finish reading the page before it goes on to the next slide.

Copy and paste the link: http://www.dltk-teach.com/rhymes/beanstalk/story.htm into a new window and read about Jack and the Beanstalk. You do not have to read the whole story, you only have to read enough to determine what kind of character Jack is. Decide what parts you are going to read wisely!!

Now that you know a little more about character traits and characterization, make a list of at least five different character traits that you notice Jack has in Jack and the Beanstalk.

Record the five different character traits of Jack in your online journal

Conclusion:

Then, choose a favorite character created by one of your classmates. in your online journal record three different character traits from your favorite character that you liked the most!
