When I read this quote I felt a strong connection to it. I enjoy how descriptive, and loved the imagery. This quote is basically saying that we all have our lives ahead of us, a goal, and a journey to get to our goal. The second part of the quote is saying that we have breaks in our journey for our "Personal legend" to meet new people, and interact with the people and world around you. At the end the quote mentions, and talks about how precious life is, and that there is much more to life than what you most likely are doing.

People are very judgmental, when people are different from what others call "Normal" they become angry. Constantly being judged by everyone around. I myself judge others, others also probably judge me. This quote is really a part of our lives. I believe people should be more respectful, and kind to all people of our world. We should raise our children to be open and to accept everyone.
"When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too."
This quote seems very inspiring. It makes me want to put more effort in life. If I were to reword this quote it would be like, "When you put real effort towards becoming better that what you already are, everything around us becomes better." This quote is saying that to be the better person you want to be, you have to actually put effort to progress. You can't just sit down and pout because you haven't progressed, maybe it's because you didn't do anything to better yourself. Yes life is very tough, you actually have to work towards goals, and you actually have to make an effort. When you strive to be the better you, your surroundings become better too.

I hate when people blame their misfortunes on God, or on fate. I am not telling you that there is no God, or that you can't believe in God. I am saying that things in life happen because of what you did in the past, or present. You can't just throw a ball straight up and when it hits you on the head say that it was Gods fault, and that God is punishing you for your sins. You got yourself to where you are today by every choice you over came. If you changed one decision you made 20 years ago, you may not be where you are today. Somethings in life are up to probability, or luck. Sometimes you were in the wrong place in the wrong time. Life is weird and unfortunate, and bad things happen to good people.
"People are afraid to pursue their most important dreams, because they feel that they don't deserve them, or that they'll be unable to achieve them."
Everyone has a dream, a desire that they want to accomplish in their lives. To accomplish their dream requires sometimes a lot of work. Goals should not be easy to achieve, they should be rigorous challenges. You shouldn't have the highest or the lowest expectations for your future. If your expectation is too low than you wont have much to be excited about, but if your expectation is too high you may be setting yourself up for failure. People should try to accomplish their dreams, they shouldn't be dreams they should become reality if you really desire it. Most people don't follow their personal legends, or try to achieve their dreams. They are afraid of the failure that faces them while they attempt to accomplish their dreams. Another quote from this book says that sometimes the anticipation of the fear is worse than the fear itself. That quote applies a lot. Set a reasonable goal, and make attempts to accomplish it, put effort.
“Everything on earth is being continuously transformed, because earth is alive...and it has a soul. We are part of that soul, so we rarely recognize that it is working for us.”
This quote was said by the Englishman, and the quote is referring to our connection to earth. The Englishman is trying to say that we don’t recognize the earth working for us because we both have souls. This quote stood out to me because it seems like he has a very deep concept that he is sharing. This helps relate to your personal legend because you realize that you aren’t alone, and that earth is on your side.
