How to Reduce Anxiety During Moments of Stress?

I stared at my google calendar. I couldn’t believe how much I had to do in one day. I had a birthday party. Homework. A basketball game. And a test the next day! I felt the stress

closing in on me. My heart was pounding so hard it felt like I was sprinting a mile. I felt like I couldn't concentrate at all, therefore I had a headache. But I remembered a quote,“Don’t stress, do your best, and forget the rest.” Do you know what stress is? Stress, is when you struggle in life about things that are hard, or when you have too much to do and you just can't do anything about it. For example a lot of students in any school think they have too much homework but, it sometimes isn’t true. I have experience with a lot of stress. For example I feel like I have too much work to do.

Many people in the world feel stressed everyday. In fact, according to ADAA, Anxiety & Depression Association of America, 80% of college students say that they frequently or sometimes experience daily stress. 34% have felt depressed in 1 month.

Do you know what happens to humans if they don’t manage stress? The human body is strong but, in moments of stress your body can die down and lose energy.

Your body can also feel uncomfortable during moments of anxiety, is a feeling you have when you feel worried, therefore, you can have headaches, a headache is when you feel pain on your head or neck, or even feel sick. When you feel stressed out you will feel like you are unable to concentrate. The longer the stress lasts, the worse it is for both your mind and body. When you have anxiety, you may feel as though things will never get better, but it can always get better. Lastly, if you still haven’t figured out how to manage stress, your body can possibly trigger a heart attack.

Do you now some ways to calm yourself? In the ADDA, it shows, that you can calm down by, taking a time out, taking a yoga break, listening to music, meditate, get a massage, and learn relaxation techniques. Some more ways are to, eat good healthy balanced meals, eat energy bars, and make sure you don’t skip any meals.

If you are still in anxiety you can try, to limit alcohol and caffeine. You can also try to exercise daily to help make yourself feel better and to maintain your health and you can always take a moment with yourself to breath and relax. Make sure to always get a good laugh, and always try your best and take your time instead of aiming for perfection because perfection is impossible.

A couple ways to make yourself better are to, talk to someone about what you're so stressed about and maybe after talking you might feel better, or try telling someone that you are overwhelmed and ask for help. “Try to stop focusing on how stress you are and remember how blessed you are” This quote is by an anonymous person.

Did you know there are ways to reduce anxiety during moments of stress? According to Rewaya.org, you always need to pay attention to your mind and body during anxiety and moments of stress. While you are having these hard times ask yourself, when things are going great what thoughts go through my mind? Or, what do I tend to say to myself during those moments? Finally ask yourself, how can I solve this problem? These ways can really help your life become easier.

To sum up, I think calming yourself down is important because if you can’t calm down you will get really mad and cranky. Try to imagine a world with people and nobody knew ways to calm themselves. This imaginary world would get really chaotic because no one would know how to calm down. Finally, remember this quote by Collective Evolution, “Working hard for something we don’t care about is stress. But working hard for something we love is called passion” Or, “Don’t stress, do your best, and forget the rest.” Remember these quotes and life can be a lot easier without stress or any anxiety. But most of all remember that perfection is impossible.
