How Did a colonial blacksmith use/change the natural environment?

What a blacksmith did to the environment was: use very hard tools because the metal was so strong even when melted. Blacksmiths were often very poor so this meant that the walls were made of wood and the roof was made out of straw. The floor was normally made out of dirt or sand.

There is so much a blacksmith could make! They could make hundreds of things such as machinery, cutlery and weapons. They were also used to fix things such as tools and screws. Blacksmiths also made doors, locks and keys.
