KC Makes Music

Biography

Born into a family with musical roots that run deep on both sides, KC Makes Music was destined to find his niche in performing. After moving from Connecticut to Southern California at 5 years old, and traveling regularly as he grew, KC was exposed to Hip Hop of not just East and West coasts, but South and Midwest as well. It was in his early teens he became enthralled with a wide variety of hip hop artists. He was drawn to the works of Eminem, Tupac, Nas and The Game, but was especially influenced by Atmosphere, as well as less commercialized artists such as Benefit, Jakki Da Motamouth, and Copywrite. His current interests in music include a wide variety of artists from A Boogie wit da Hoodie and Post Malone to Drake. He loves most anything from Rhymesayers Ent., as well as Mike Posner and Jon Bellion but he never shies away from adding new artists to his playlist.

KC has been honing his lyrical skills for the past 15 years, but just recently made a sole vocation of creating music, partnering with Jordan Meyer Productions, out of Windsor, Connecticut. His usage of different genres blend together showcasing his flexibility in musical expression. Overcoming addiction and mental health issues are a part of KC’s story. The way he weaves his experiences into his lyrical content creates an optimistic vibe that most anyone can relate. KC is looking to share his unique vernacular, bringing a fresh sound to the current market, stepping away from mumble rap and toning down the auto-tune. He believes that it is possible to create the “vibe” that is demanded by today’s music industry, while still remaining true to lyrical content.

People have compared him to anyone from Lil Dickie and G Easy, to Chris Webby and Logic, but his musical style has such vast differences from song to song, and his flow varies in all his music, which helps him to really stand out as a unique artist.

For the past two years, KC has been in the studio, writing, networking and expanding his knowledge of the business. He looks forward to continuing to express his rhetoric, both live and in the booth. As of November 10, 2018, "Powerless", his debut album, is available on all streaming services. In the album's first weekend of release, "Powerless," broke the top 100 on the ITunes Hip Hop Charts, peaking at #72.

2019 brings continued success with "Powerless" and with that, an influx of new fans. KC Makes Music recently posted a video with Jordan Meyer that garnered over 2.1 million views and over 53k shares on Facebook, and more on other social media platforms. He also has over 16k fans on his Facebook page with that number growing by the hour.
