RACE HIGHLIGHTS December 2019

We have concluded on another fantastic year of racing for Club Spring Mountain! December’s Race Weekend began with brisk weather on the Andretti (C) 4.0-mile course, but things heated up just in time for the races! We had a great turn-out with 23 LSR drivers and 16 Sports Car drivers on Friday and 17 LSR drivers and 14 Sports Car drivers on Saturday.

The competition was fierce for the final rounds of races on Friday, from spin-offs to cat-and-mouse chases – it was exciting to say the least! The anticipation on track was palpable as everyone awaited to see who would become our next series champions! With only a few points separating our leaders, there was no room for errors. It was also great to see Monica Carlson participate in a sanction race and to come out winning second overall in LSR2. Congrats Monica!

On Friday night, we held our annual championship banquet dinner in the Clubhouse and, to be expected, there were plenty of smiles to go around. Everyone was welcomed to complimentary Blue Marble Cocktails and a superb prime rib dinner with a crème brulee dessert to finish off the feast. Following dinner, our long-awaited awards ceremony took place, equipped with countless laughs and heartfelt speeches. Among the picture-perfect LSR and Sports Car trophies that adorned the room front-and-center, our Spring Mountain Racing shop also built intricate gear awards that truly stole the show! Congrats to all our award winners and thank you to everyone for joining in on the fun! It was a wonderful night filled with good friends and family as we all reminisced on a great year of racing and the all the staff that made it possible.

Thank you to all of our members for your continuous support and enthusiastic participation year after year, Blue Marble Cocktails for sponsoring our race series and for solidifying the bonds of friendship after each race one beverage at a time, as well as all of our staff that work hard to make each race weekend a success! Special thanks to Spring Mountain Racing for putting in countless hours all year to take care of every car for our race weekends as well as our amazing Clubhouse staff for nourishing our members after the races. We’re looking forward to the new year and can’t wait to see what the 2020 Spring Mountain Race Series will bring!
