We had some very exciting news this week: Greenfields Primary School and Nursery is to be a 'Beacon' school for singing locally. This is in recognition of our fabulous work over the last four years that has seen our teachers and children receive expert tuition from Voices Foundation singers that has helped develop great teaching, class choirs and an elite choir. We shall be offering training to schools locally and across the region. We would be delighted if there was interest in creating a 'Greenfields Community Choir' - please ask for more details.
I am very much looking forward to welcoming all year groups into school next week for a socially-distanced 'Singing Safari' - always our most popular event. This time, to help keep signing-in as safe as possible, please look out for our QR codes attached to your invitation and remember to keep a safe distance from other families and wear face coverings if you would like, as usual.
Please keep an eye out for an invitation also for our Academy Awards event that is being held for each year group bubble at staggered times during the last week of term - w/b 12th July . We will send you full details next week.
Have a lovely weekend.

Ladybirds Go Wild!
This week the youngest children in our school have been busy learning all about wild animals. They have been dressing up, moving and dancing like the animals do. They have used Playdough to manipulate into different shapes to create animals as well as reading lots of different stories and making animal food in the mud kitchen.
Money, Money, Money
Year Two have been learning all about money this week. They have calculated totals and created equivalent sums. They explored adding and subtracting with coins and even took turns in selling items in their shop, making sure to give the correct change.

Home School Agreement
As we become more used to our online way of working, we thought it was important to add to our home/school agreement (that you signed when your child started at Greenfields) to include online learning. Please follow the link below to complete this short addition relating to online learning with Greenfields Primary School and Nursery.
Class Code and Google Link
Teachers are looking forward to posting their ‘Flipping Greenfields’ videos this Friday in time for the weekend. Each one is all about next week’s learning, so will get your child prepared for a flying start on Monday. Research shows that children who feel prepared for the coming week are less anxious about school, happier to get up and go on a Monday morning and achieve better than those who are not.
