What qualifications will I need to work in Health and Social Care?

It will depend upon which role you choose to apply for and the qualifications needed will be specified in the job profile but you will need to have a good level of literacy and numeracy for all roles. If you haven't already got GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths or Level 2 Functional Skills, you will need to work towards achieving this level and may be eligible for a fully funded Functional Skills course

Functional Skills

Having good literacy, numeracy and I.C.T. skills are important for any role within the health and social care sector

You skills will be assessed during the recruitment and selection process

The areas you may be assessed on may include: English, Maths, I.T, knowledge of the role and the organisation you are applying to

Would you like to know what level of English/Maths/I.C.T you are currently working at?

If you are not currently working at Level 2, you may be eligible to join a fully funded English/Maths course
