A pair of late three-pointers by Jonathan Lawton helped Florida Southern College men's basketball pick up its biggest win of the season in an 87-82 victory of fifth-ranked Nova Southeastern on Saturday evening at Streamline Sale Arena at Jenkins Field House. A 49-point showing in the second half helped propel Florida Southern College men's basketball past Tampa, 88-71, in Sunshine State Conference action on Wednesday night at the Bob Martinez Center. The Moccasins (15-4, 8-3 SSC) and Spartans (9-11, 4-9) were squared up at 39-39 after the first 20 minutes of action but the Mocs stepped up on both ends of the floor in the second half, outscoring Tampa 49-32 in the second half en route to their second-straight win. - (read more)

Thomas Spinelli pitched 3.1 scoreless innings in relief and Leo Rodriguez picked up his second-straight save as Florida Southern College baseball overcame an early two-run deficit to defeat West Florida, 6-5, on Sunday afternoon at Jim Spooner Field. The No. 5 Moccasins (2-1) raced out to a 3-0 lead after two innings, but the Argonauts (1-2) struck for three runs in the bottom of the second and two more in the third to take a 5-3 lead. - (read more)

Camille Giardina and Anja Fuchs-Robetin combined to scored 59 points as Florida Southern College women's basketball picked up its 16th-straight win, 88-62, over Nova Southeastern on Saturday evening at Streamline Sale Arena at Jenkins Field House. Camille Giardina scored 23 points and Florida Southern College women's basketball held yet another opponent under 50 points in a 59-44 win at Sunshine State Conference rival Tampa on Wednesday at the Bob Martinez Center. A rainy, cold afternoon set the tone on Friday as the Florida Southern College men's tennis team dropped its season-opener 5-2 to No. 6 Flagler. The Moccasins (0-1) fell behind early when the Saints (1-0) swept all three doubles matches and couldn't overcome strong play from Flagler's top four.
