Health Care (HHS) Created by: Brianna maldonado

Incoming President (Dealing with Health Care)

Donald Trump

How does Trump feel about Health Care?

Donald Trump would like to repeal and replace the current Health Care plan, Obamacare, because he feels it is "terrible legislation." Only to be replaced with Health Saving Accounts (HSA).

Trump will collectively work with Congress to create a patient-centered health care system that promotes choice, quality, and affordability essentially (HSA). Then work with states to establish high-risk pools to ensure access to coverage for individuals who have not maintained continuous coverage.

Lastly, this health care system will have the maximum flexibility for states using block grants so that local leaders can design innovative Medicaid programs that will better serve their low-income citizens.

First Issue With ObamaCare

President Obama had said that his health care plan, Obamacare, would cut cost of family premium by 2,500 a year. Yet, it did the opposite instead, it only raised premiums by close to 5,000.

Other Cabinet Members

Mike PencE

Vice President

Mike Pence may not be the most important, in regards to the health care situation, he has something to bring to this table as well. Under Pence is Indiana resisted Medicaid expansion under the ACA until it was able to get recipients to pay premiums or co-pays. Yet, by January of 2015, the Obama administration approved a waiver Pence’s administration sought to expand. It consisted of Medicaid under a program known as “Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0.” That made Indiana one of 31 states plus the District of Columbia to expand Medicaid under the ACA, President Obama’s signature legislative achievement.

Tom PrIce

Health & Human Services (HHS) Secretary

Tom Price fully supports the Indiana Medicaid program, that Mike Pence and his team had came up with, that requires a copayment to get a richer benefit package. Although, Price does favors repealing the Affordable Care Act ( ACA ) and his testimony offers ideas on what he may push to replace the law.

My Opinions

What impacts will the new president and staff have with the (HHS)?

In my opinion because a vast majority of Americas do not like Obamacare care, I don't think the new administration will have much of an impact with HHS if it stays in place.

What changes will take place when the new presidency take over?

I do think Obamacare will be replaced by Trump's own health care because there isn't a fully developed idea of the care yet. The fact of his health car consisting of each time a person has to have health care there bill will go staight to a Healt Savings Account is kind of unnecessary steps being taken.

Will Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Tom Price's decisions to replace Obamacare actually come into affect?

Yes, I believe that it will actually come into affect because when Donald Trump wants something done there's no stopping him and he always gets what he wants especially with his new cabinet members that are 100% on board with his decision as well, they are unstoppable.
