Catskill Regional CEO UPDATE

From the CEO

Catskill Regional Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Schiller

On February 23, Catskill Regional Medical Center partnered with WSUL for the 40th Annual WSUL Heart-A-Thon in the Woodland Garden Café located at Catskill Regional Medical Center. WSUL broadcasted live from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The annual event raised more than $64,000.

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the community for its continuous participation in the Heart-A-Thon. This vital fundraiser allows us to obtain the funds we need to provide exceptional care to the community.”

The funds raised at this year’s Heart-A-Thon will help subsidize the purchase of an advanced cardio training mannequin at CRMC in addition to supporting the Grover M. Hermann Hospital.

Barbara Huber, Hematology Supervisor, (upper left corner) was awarded for 35 years of service to Catskill Regional. She is accompanied by Rolland Bojo, CNO, VP Patient Care & Services, Laura Northrup, Administrator, Nursing Professional Practice and Rob Nicoletti, Director, Lab.

Cassie Melton, Patient Access, was the Outstanding Care of the Year Award recipient.

Outstanding Care Awards were presented to Sylvia Galligan, RN - Inpatient Services; Jodie Vandermark - Support Services; Natasha Small - Outpatient Services; Grover Hermann Division/Callicoon Rehab Department - Exception Outpatient Unit; Behavioral Health Unit - Exceptional Inpatient Unit; Environmental Services - Exceptional Support Unit.

On February 2, Catskill Regional "went red" in support of the American Heart Association's Wear Red Day. Supporting the fight against women's heart disease and stroke is a long standing tradition at CRMC.

Urgent Care Reminder

Don't forget!

Our Urgent Care Centers, now certified as Urgent Care Category 2 facilities, as designated by the Urgent Care Association of America, are open in two locations - Monticello and Middletown. We are here for you and your family when you have an injury or illness that is not life-threatening but requires immediate medical attention.

Employees, and any covered dependents, with Empire Direct POS plan have NO CO-PAY when using CRMG or ORMG Primary Care and Specialty Care physicians.

For the Empire High Deductible Plan, once your deductible is met, there is NO Co-insurance for CRMG or ORMG Primary Care and Specialty Care physicians.

Wellness Wednesdays

Free cardiac risk assessments are being offered to CRMC employees and volunteers through our Healthy Heart Program in conjunction with Employee Health Wellness Wednesdays.

Results are tabulated immediately after your assessment to determine your risk for heart disease. This brief assessment includes:

• Review of your medical history

• Height, weight / waist measurements

• A small blood sample

• Cholesterol & glucose screening

• Blood pressure screening

Upcoming dates are April 4, May 2 and June 6. Time is from 7:30 a.m. to noon in the Rehab waiting area on the first floor of the Harris Main Campus.
