The majority of research done by Dr. Resende takes place in Citra, Florida. Dr. Resende and his team cross pollinate desired traits that they wish to bring to farmers around Florida.
The sweet corn market is driven by the sweetness of corn. In order for the team to dictate which corn will be most desired by consumers, they hold taste test panels. This allows them to gain information on what consumers are looking for in sweet corn.
