At the bottom of the southwest branch lies the city of Como, home to Renaissance architecture and a funicular that travels up to the mountain town of Brunate.

A full day guided tour discovering the pearls of Lake Como: walking tours of Bellagio and Varenna, a visit to Villa Balbianello and Villa Melzi, a relaxing private cruise, the sampling of olive oil at an original mill plus tastings of local cheese, cold cuts, wine, fish and pasta.

TOUR DETAILS: This full day tour will allow you to discover the "pearls" of the mid lake area and view and visit some of the most famous waterfront villas, all accompanied with the tasting of delicious local products.

The tour starts with a trip to a fascinating original mill on the hills above Varenna where you will be offered a tasting of the world famous locally produced olive oil, typical Valsassina cheese, cold cuts and wine followed by a guided walking tour of Varenna with its Celtic origins and steep alleys.

Lunch will be served in a lakefront restaurant where you will sample typical freshwater fish starters and delicious pasta (a non-fish menu will also be available).

An unforgettable private motorboat cruise will give you the chance to relax in the afternoon admiring the spectacular mountains and the stunning villas, once the homes of aristocrats, now the playgrounds for the jet set.

You will disembark at Villa del Balbianello for a guided visit, a real gem not to be missed, stunning shooting location for a number of famous films such as “Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones” and “Casino Royale”.

Afterwards, our motorboat will bring you to Bellagio, where you shall be guided through the wonderful Villa Melzi gardens, followed by a stroll along the lakeside.

The tour will end at approximately 5:30 pm in this world-renowned village, where you are highly recommended to stop for a romantic happy hour or dinner. Our tour guide will suggest the best restaurants and cafes in the area.

An opportunity not to be missed, an experience that will give you an insight into how the locals really live…

Our cooking course takes place in the lovely fishing hamlet of Mandello del Lario, a characteristic village on the lakeside at family run restaurant , where our chef will teach you how to make homemade pasta, using seasonal, local fresh ingredients. A 4 hour cooking course. (10am - 2pm)

You will be made to feel at home preparing and then enjoying a home cooked meal and local wine, all accompanied by great company.

The menu changes according to the season. This cooking course will enable you to discover local cooking traditions and tips, ideas and methods which you can take back to try out in your home country and share with your friends and family.

We'll provide all food and drink, all that is required is that you bring enthusiasm and willingness to learn, to meet new people and try to speak some Italian along the way.

5/22/19 - City Walking Tour of Florence

In the morning, meet your guide and driver in the hotel lobby. You will start with a panoramic tour of Piazza Michaelangelo which offers stunning views of Florence! You will then go to the city center to begin your walking tour of the city. Walk around one of the most famous squares in the world, Piazza della Signoria, and admire it's magnificent buildings as the Loggia dei Lanzi, the medieval Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery from outside.

Break for a tasty lunch on your own. Sit at an outdoor cafe, order a traditional Italian pizza or pasta, drink some wine and take in the ambiance & atmosphere Florence offers!

When your tour resumes, you might then stop at the Church of Orsanmichele, where you will be enchanted by the artworks of famed artists such as Donatello, Ghiberti and Verrocchio. As tradition dictates, rub the nose of the legendary boar, "il Porcellino" to make sure you will return to Florence and visit Piazza della Repubblica, the Forum of the old Roman city, that still today represents a popular meeting place.

See the famous Baptistry Doors by Ghiberti that Michelangelo had judged to be worthy of paradise. You will also admire the amazing Florence Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Brunelleschi's dome including a visit inside!

In the morning, meet your driver in the hotel lobby for your full day excursion to discover the beautiful medieval towns of Siena & San Gimignano. Head to the enchanting town of Siena, where you will meet your private guide and visit the city landmarks, including the Duomo, a spectacular mixture of sculpture, paintings, and Pisan-influenced Romanesque-Gothic architecture, the Contrada museum, a very special place for the Sienese people in which the history of the famous Palio Horse Race is kept.

You will see one of Europe's greatest medieval squares, namely Piazza del Campo, that occupies the site of the old Roman Forum. The square is dominated by the Palazzo Pubblico and the magnificent Torre del Mangia, the palace's huge bell tower.

Then met up again with your driver and reach San Gimignano, where you will enjoy some free time in this cozy town, still surrounded by its medieval atmosphere, almost unchanged through the ages. It preserves it's imposing defensive walls and fourteen of the numerous medieval towers which were built by the town's wealthiest families as a symbol of their power.

This tour also takes you to the third-tier level of the Colosseum, as well as the arena floor - areas not visited on regular Colosseum tours.
