Message for Children

Instead of our usual message, I wanted to share a short lesson from our Jewish friends. Perhaps, kids, you are wondering why we have stopped doing normal things all of a sudden. I hope the grown-ups around you have tried to explain...though even they don't have all the answers.

While we are waiting for normal things to return, what can we do to make THIS time special? One thing is to practice "Sabbath". Christians try keep the sabbath (day of rest) just like our Jewish and Muslim friends. But our Jewish friends do it best. Watch this brief video and talk to your grown-ups about ways you all can practice the Sabbath in your own home. This is one way we can mark and remember this strange time.

Then he said to them, ‘These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.’ Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, and he said to them, ‘Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
