Buffalo Field Campaign Protecting the last wild bison

What the BFC is about

"Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) is the only group working both in the field and in the policy arenas to stop the harassment and slaughter of America’s last wild buffalo.

Formalized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1994, we also protect the natural habitat of wild free-roaming bison and other native wildlife, and stand with First Nations to honor the sacredness of wild buffalo.

Our primary goal is to create permanent year-round protection for bison and the ecosystem they depend on—including respect for the migratory needs of this long-exploited and clearly endangered species."-"About Buffalo Field Campaign." Protecting buffalo

Buffalo hunters in the 1870's standing on a pile of buffalo bones

In the late 1800's, buffalo hunting became a very popular sport. Some could say that, but what they did was what most would kill buffalo for amusement. Some of the hunters used the buffalo for profit. They are all bad people for killing this creature. How would you feel if you were a species being hunted close to extinction for fun?

They killed so many buffalo that they nearly went extinct. In fact, they killed so many they had to restrict people from killing them. This caused a major up rise for people who wanted to save the buffalo. This is still happening today and shouldn't you want to save buffalo too?
