Volunteer Position Description Peer Support worker

Average hours per week:

Flexi Work schedule minimum 6 hrs per week

Minimum 5 positions

Days/times job is available:

7 days a week Monday to Sunday to be negotiated Flexi-Work schedule negotiate schedule with team and clients.

Job details:

Supporting clients in group and one to one capacity, online and face to face. To set and reach their goals.

You will be required to work inside our charter and services and will be provided with ongoing training and professional development. We expect a certain amount of transparency so we can work around your needs and work with you also. Our end goal is for our clients to have the best possible quality of life and the most independence possible.The one on one support we offer ranges from video, text and phone support to face to face support and hospital visits.

What skills are required to do the job:

Previous experience in disability, Chronic illness and or mental health preferable in a peer support role.You will also need basic computer experience and a willingness to learn as well as access to a private computer and a good internet connection.

We can support you to get a qualification if this is something you are interested in and personal development courses and on job training is a must with us. So if your only experience is lives please do not let that shy you away from applying.

The volunteer must believe in holistic practice and treating the client as a whole person, Have a willingness to learn, accept feedback, work in a team and autonomously when needed, be able to ask for help and accept help when needed and offered.

The skills and experience is immeasurable as we work with such a wide range of people with such a wide range of experiences if you come in with an open mind and a willingness to learn there is no limit to what you will leave with.

General information about the position:

We are a startup and you will be coming in at ground level so if you are passionate about helping people and innovation and technology in community services and health. Would love to get in at ground level of something and learn then this is for you.
