Wild Pedder JANUARY 2018 NEWSLETTER.

The summer season is now well and truly underway, and we have completed five triumphant tours. The weather has been classically Southwest Tassie with almost every condition possible experienced at some stage or another! We had a blizzard on Mount Field one tour, scorching Tasmanian sun on another, and bizarre storm like conditions most recently! All of these elements have come together to create remarkable and unique experiences for all!

We have said it before, but, time really flies! We are halfway through our season which leaves only three months before we retire our Wild Pedder merinos for another year! We have two sold-out tours departing in Feb/March, and still have room for departures in late Feb, early March and late April (see below for more details).

Again, we thank each and every one of you for your support in helping Wild Pedder become what it is. It has been a wonderful experience building the adventures, and an absolute pleasure to get to know all of our friends that have come along for the ride. We certainly look forward to more adventures with you very soon!

All the best,

Lou & Cody

THE TURNING OF THE FAGUS

A Very Special Adventure: April 26 - 29, 2018

Lou & Cody would like to invite you for a very special Wild Pedder tour this April to coincide with the turning of the Fagus.

The Fagus (Nothofagus gunnii) is the only native temperate deciduous plant species in Australia, and is only found in the highland regions of Tasmania. Late every autumn as the days shorten and cool, the Fagus commences its process towards winter dormancy, and its leaves begin to turn....

When they turn, their leaves transform from the solar panel iridescent greens into the vibrant autumnal colours of red, orange through to golden yellows.

The Fagus is found skirting the slopes of the Rodway Range beside the Tarn Shelf, and if the conditions come together the landscape can be one of insurmountable natural beauty.

Lou and Cody would love to have you join them for the April 26 departure. Starting the day after ANZAC day (allowing you to arrive and settle into Hobart before the tour commences), our first day is planned to be on Mount Field, and we have our fingers crossed for a vibrant turning of the Fagus this year.
