Rio Vista Elementary 6-8-2020

As I reflect on this unforgettable time in the history of the world, I am reminded of the simple moments in life. The importance of health, family, and connections with people we love. These life alternating events have allowed me to value each day as a gift. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our exceptional teachers who continue to demonstrate a caring and loving spirit for all students in their pursuit of excellence. To our support staff who support our vision of creating an exceptional school, this vision is not possible without the support of these important individuals. To all the Rio Vista parents and families, I am extremely grateful for all your work and attention during this time of distance learning. Thank you for helping your scholar log into Google Classroom and for making sure they attended their weekly or daily Zoom sessions with their teachers. For the countless hours of support. Thank you for being the PE teacher, Music Teacher, Counselor, Nurse and Food Service and sometimes, The Principal. I am thankful for you and your partnership in the education of our students. We miss you all and hope you have a safe and healthy summer. Mr.Cabrera & Mrs.Alvarez

In parting, we want to wish our promoting 5th-grade class the very best and expect to hear great accomplishments about you in the near future. We offer you these words of wisdom by the great Civil Right Leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

5th Grade Promotion Drive Through:

While we are unable to celebrate the promoting class of 2020 together in person, we are working on a promotion alternative for the 5th graders.
The 5th Grade teachers have planned a drive-through celebration for our promoting 5th grade class. The first stop will be for returning of materials. Next, you will proceed to the pick up station where teachers have created a little something for each 5th grade student. We ask that you adhere to the social distancing protocols and remain in your car. To make this a more memorable experience, please make sure your promoting student is near the window of the passenger side.

As soon we get the delivery of our books, we will communicate with each 5th Grade family and then provide a sale date for the remainder of the books. We apologize for this inconvenience.
