Hugo Chavez ALlen Swofford

Hugo Chavez was a politician that became president of Venezuela from 1999-2013 that used his authoritarian rule to unify Latin America and to keep the region free of foreign power.

Hugo Chavez used Power and Authority to help his country revolutionize from their past standards. Hugo, inspired by the teachings of Simon Bolivar who led the fight for Latin America to be free from Spain. As he got older he enlisted for the military and later used his authority of the military to overthrow their past president and free the country of his reign. Chavez failed on his first event but this action caused a rebellion to uprise and led to the overthrow of Carlos Andrés Pérez and the becoming of president Hugo Chavez.
