Well done to all the children for a brilliant (and busy) term 3. Looking back we've had music and class assemblies, Y6 dance festival, a visit from an Olympic athlete, celebrated Chinese new year and our outdoor classroom has been finished (wood chip still to add!). Our assembly today celebrated many of the achievements of the children during the term and we awarded a Monkton Mole award to each class.
We hope everyone enjoys a wonderful half term break and we look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 25th February.
As part of their Tudor topic KS2 are visiting Hampton Court Palace on Thursday 7th March. The cost of the trip is £16.00.
Permission and payment for both trips can be made using Parent Pay or cash/cheques to the school office.

World Book Day
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 8th March this year. The children will be given their £1 book token on that day.
This year we would like the children to dress up as a character from their class’ chosen book or theme:
Field Mice - Julia Donaldson Book Characters
Rabbits - Julia Donaldson Book Characters
Hedgehogs - The Day the Crayons Quit
Otters - Mr Men/Little Miss stories
Squirrels - Horrible Histories
Owls - The Dark by Lemony Snicket
Pine Martens - David Walliams Book Characters
Foxes - Sky Song by Abi Elphinstone
Badgers - Traditional Tales and Nursery Rhymes
We would also like the children to take part in the ‘Book Potato Challenge’. For fun we would like the children to have a go at making their favourite book character (from any book not just their class’ chosen one) out of a potato and decorate this in any way they chose.
We will have prizes for the best decorated potato at FS/KS1 and KS2. Please bring the finished potato into school on Friday 8th March.
Thank you for your continued support! Please see your child’s class teacher if you have any questions.
There have been a number of cases of Nits throughout the school. Please can you use half term to check your child's hair and treat if necessary. Thank you
We are looking for an MDSA to join our lunchtime team on a Monday and Tuesday from 11.45am - 1.00pm.
You will be jointly responsible for providing lunch time supervision, both in the hall and outside, providing basic first aid treatment as and when required and setting up tables and chairs in the hall.
Please contact the school office for further information and an application pack.
We are currently advertising for a teaching assistant post to cover a maternity leave. This will start after the Easter holidays.
For further details please see the advert in Wiltshire Jobs or contact the school office for an application pack.
A really big thank you to everyone who helped at the Disco on Wednesday night - it was a brilliant success yet again and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Particularly well done to all the children who remembered to recycle their paper waste and plastic bottles, reuse their cups and save their crisp packets for Wiltshire Air Ambulance!
There will be a FOMPS meeting at 8pm upstairs in Rivo Lounge on Wednesday 27th February (the first Wednesday after half term) - please come and join us for a drink and a chat!
To mark world book day, FOMPS will be holding a second hand book sale in the hall from 3pm on Friday 8th March. There will also be cakes and second hand uniforms for sale. Please bring donations of any of these to the school office by the Friday morning.
FOMPS are now taking entries for the Monkton Park Scarecrow Trail on 11th and 12th May. Please email: email@example.com with your name, address (somewhere on Monkton Park where the scarecrow will sit for the weekend) and your scarecrow suggestion, fitting within the theme of Fairytales and Myths.
