CU 1010 started as a course that all first year students were required to take their first semester at Clemson.
While it did touch on some success strategies, it was mostly designed to acclimate students to college life and, more specifically, to Clemson policies and resources.
The course was taught in the classroom and faculty and staff across student affairs and academic affairs collaborated to cover the many sections that were offered.
Around 2010 a new course (CU 1000) was developed to help students transition into the University. This new course included a combination of several online modules and in-person workshops/seminars.
As a result of this institutional change, CU 1010 underwent a major curriculum transformation and was remarketed as an academic recovery program for students on academic probation
