How to become one: It requires a high school diploma and a college degree. Most detectives must graduate from their agency's training academy by completing on-the-job training. You must be a U.S citizen usually at least 21 years of age, and able to meet rigorous physical and personal qualification standers. A felony conviction or drug use may disqualify the person.
