Martha Helen Stewart (AKA, Martha Helen Kostyra), born August 3, 1941 in Jersey City, New Jersey is best known for her TV show and magazine called, Martha Stewart living. Education & Job History
At the age of 3, Martha and her Parents moved to Nutley, New Jearsey. She first went to Nutley High School as young student, then, went to Bernard College. At first she wanted to be a chemist but switched to history and graduated with a double major in European & Architectural history.
When Martha was in grammar school she often planned birthday parties for her neighbours. When she was in college she became a model in New York City to be able to pay her tuition. The year Martha's daughter, Alexis was born, she started working at a small Wall Street firm as a stock broker. (1965-72). In 1972, her family moved to Westport, Connecticut, and started restoring an old Farmhouse requiring the skills and setting of books and Tv shows. In 1976, she started a catering business in her basement which attracted lots of attention because of her innovation and decoration, resulting in a 1 million dollar enterprise. This strung her idea for a book released in 1982 called Entertaining. 2 more books followed until 1987. In 1990, she teamed with Time Publishing Ventures Inc to publish a monthly magazine called Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. She was the editor in chief and the featured personality in the magazine. Starting in 1993 she started her own show with the same name as her magazine, her show ended in 2004. In 2005 she took over the show the Apprentice ending in december that same year.

Her magazine was established n 1990 and her television show was established shortly after, in 1993. Starting off she was teamed with Time Publishing Ventures Inc to produce her monthly magazine but after it became such a success she decided to buy the magazine from Time Warner in 1997. In Martha Stewarts magazines she shows DIY's, entertaining, home, food, life & style. Now, Martha has a new show with co- host, Snoop Dog that has so far been a success.
Challenges & Successes
One of the biggest challenges Martha Stewart and her company ever faced was in the year 2004-2005. That year, Martha was investigated for insider trading with the company ImCore who where selling drugs for cancer in the Untied States. In 2004 she was brought to trial and for 5 months was placed in jail. In those months the shows and magazines had to be cancelled, a year from her return the company was back to success with a new program called the Martha Stewart Show. All of her successes made her named the third most powerful woman in 2001. Also, within a year of her release from jail, she was nominated for six daytime Emmy awards. Now, she has a new show called, Martha and Snoops Pot Luck Dinner Party.

She is also continuing with new recipes and books throughout this year and last. In 2015, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia sold itself to a retail licensing company for 353$ million. Since then the companies revenue has dropped immensely. Yet, Martha and Snoops new show may become a huge break through and save her company.
