JANUARY NEWSLETTER THE CROSSING CHURCH

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope your Christmas celebration was very special as you paused to celebrate the birth of our King Jesus. We had a really sweet time of celebration for our Christmas Eve Service. I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped serve to make that happen. Thanks to everyone who passed out flyers, invited friends, brought food, participated in the service and helped with setup and tear down. A special thank you to Beky Balboa, who helped to coordinate the entire event, and to Isaac and Laura for using your drama gifting to transport us to the manger.

We are going to kickoff the new year with a sermon series called, "Hardhat Required: Your Part In Building The Kingdom." Several different preachers will participate in the series as we share God's vision for The Crossing in 2017.

- Pastor Jake

YOUR PART IN BUILDING THE KINGDOM

Construction sites are a flurry of activity. Whether it’s operating heavy machinery or checking the blueprints, everyone who steps onto that site has a job to do. Everyone puts on a hardhat. In the same way, Jesus talked about his mission to build the Kingdom of God. Every follower of Jesus is called to join his family of servant missionaries. Join us as we look at the words of Jesus, the master teacher and carpenter, who calls us to put on our hardhat and join him in building the Kingdom.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE

This year's Christmas Eve Service was special. Isaac and Laura Mahoney did a drama and engaged the kids through song and dance. Beky Balboa did a fantastic job setting up the afterparty to engage the community with food and fun. Thank you to all who contributed to make this a special evening. What a wonderful time celebrating Christ Jesus! Watch the video for more pictures of the service.

BABY DEDICATIONS

What an honor to dedicate two children from our family. Levi Lee Grenz and Audrey Ruth Vanhooser were dedicated by Pastor Jake on January 1, 2016. As a church, we are dedicated to walking alongside these families as they lean on the Lord to raise the precious gifts that their children are.

COMMISIONING DEACON OF SETUP

We are thrilled to commission Steve Macias as Deacon of Setup. With his leadership, commitment and fun-loving personality, we couldn't ask for a better man to serve on mission with us in the city of Aurora. If you are interested in serving alongside Steve, please contact him for more information.

VISITOR'S DINNER

We are so thankful that you are visiting The Crossing! As a church community, we would love to take this time to get to know you better by sharing a meal and playing some games together. Take note we will be scheduling a dinner for Friday, March 3rd at 6:30pm. More details to come!
