Monkton Park Newsletter 8th June 2018

Welcome back for our final term of the year! At the start of the week we were thrilled to find out that we had been awarded a £5000 grant from Chippenham Area Board towards our outdoor classroom. Thank you to Jo lennon (Chair of FOMPS) for putting together the successful bid.

Today we were delighted to welcome the BEHN string quartet to Monkton Park as part of their 'Stories in Sound' project. They really did sound amazing and we hope the children enjoyed the experience of seeing such talented musicians play live.

Thank you to everyone who donated tombola prizes today. It really is appreciated and will be a huge help in raising funds for our outdoor classroom.

We just need more than 30 children to make it happen! We will be singing at 12.45 on Saturday 23rd June, and will be singing three songs that we would have practiced beforehand.

If you are interested please let Mrs Bevan know by Monday 18th June!

Every year we display the school bunting at the summer fair, giving the children the opportunity to make their presence remembered for years to come. If you have a child in Reception, or you child hasn't yet designed one, please use the triangular bunting template attached to help them personalise their own piece of the bunting.

Ideally it should:

• be weather proof as it will remain outside all weekend, rain or shine

• be brightly decorated

• identify or be identifiable by your child

• returned to the school office by 15th June so we can sew them together!

Thank you for your continued support for FOMPS and the school.
