On Friday, families received an email from Mrs. Birmingham with information for any families that would like their student to return to in-seat learning for the 4th quarter. If you are interested, please look for the email.
Only families wishing to make a change in their selection have to go in and indicate their choice. If you do not go in to Power School, your current selection (virtual or in-seat) will remain for the rest of the school year.

OAKLAND SCHOOLS PARENT SESSIONS
The most important thing parents and caregivers can do right now is to keep a love of learning alive for their children. Parents and caregivers are essential partners in supporting learning at home, but what does this mean? Parents do not need to be teachers or content area experts. Please join our Partnerships@Home Learning Series for some ideas about fostering curiosity and a sense of wonder during everyday family life. Registration can completed at the link below. Upcoming sessions include:
Ensuring the Well-Being of Your Family, Especially During COVID-19
Home Libraries as Mirrors and Windows
Creating Routines (and Calming the Storm)
AND MUCH MORE!
To celebrate our 21st Annual Troybery Award Program, the TSD middle school media centers are hosting 2020 Newbery Honor Award winning author Alicia D. Williams on May 12 for a virtual visit! We invite you and your students to participate in our author visit!
Students and staff can sign up at http://bit.ly/tsdauthorvisit. In order to attend the author Zoom on May 12, from 2-3 pm, students must attend a Zoom book discussion on April 21 from 2:25-3:00 pm that will include middle school students and staff from across the district. When you/students sign up, there is an option to ask for a FREE e-book copy of Genesis Begins Again!
If that option is chosen, you/students will receive the e-book on the Sora app for 90 days to read the book in preparation for the book discussion and author visit. In addition, I am giving away 10 autographed copies of book—those who sign up by February 26 will be entered in the drawing to win a copy!
Have a wonderful weekend,
