In Pansy class pupils have been learning about the life cycle of a seed, the children were able to name the different parts of a plant and will be planting some seeds in the garden. In Lotus class pupils have been reading the wonderful story, 'The very hungry caterpillar' and have been exploring elements of the book through their senses. On Wednesday Lily class made some delicious pizzas and the children were doing some brilliant chopping of vegetables. There have been a number of trips this week including Violet class going to Sainsburys on the tube!

Upper School Updates: It's been another busy week in Upper School. Lots of exciting learning activities of all different types and styles. In Bill Gates class learners were exploring the sights, sounds and smells of a shopping trip. JK Rowling class have been showing off their cycling skills...and breaking land speed records! Roald Dahl class have been carrying out surveys about favourite ice creams and coming up with their own conclusions about the results. EYFS

This week we celebrated Chinese New Year through a sensory story. We enjoyed the music and joined in using drums.

Orchid class were working on their functional hand skills in a play dough session.

Informal Pathway

Students across the school are using the eye-gaze computer in regular sessions throughout the week. With this technology, students can control the mouse pointer by looking at the screen.

Students can potentially learn to use this technology to communicate using pictures, symbols or words.

Semi-Formal Pathway

This week on the Semi-Formal pathway pupils have been exploring different materials and colour in their 'My Creativity' class.

Lots of fun was had in Violet Class, they enjoyed feeling the different textures and getting artistic with their ideas!

Formal Pathway

This week learners from Sunflower class explored the properties of water and how it can change shape. They looked at water as ice and as a liquid in different containers.

Sunflower class also thought about the different animals that live in the sea. The learner chose to make a jellyfish!

Sixth Form

Students in Post-16 have been working together to make art on a sewing machine. One student pushed the switch button/pedal to start the machine, and the other student guided the material through to sew pieces of material together. When he stopped pressing the machine stopped.

The art work will be used to form the background for the Card & Design greeting cards.
