Thirty years ago, Pierce County’s solid waste division had just one educator to promote our new curbside recycling program and offer a few lessons at schools. But today, we are active in 40-50 different schools every year. We reached more than 9,900 learners for a total of 24,400 hours of teaching in 2017!
