The "Pope" comes to Bemidji #BEWARETHEBEARD

Named to the 2014 Daktronics All-Super Region 3

Elby Pope is a Grand Forks native who played wide receiver for Red River High School, where he made First-Team All State. Pope then went on to be recruited by the University of Mary Marauders, where he played four seasons.

Accumulated 4,696 All Purpose Yards Over 4 Years

Pope played every game across his college career totaling 44 games. With those 44 games, Elby had 193 receptions for 2,781 yards and 22 touchdowns, 10 of which came during his senior season. Pope was also known for his great kick returning talents. During his career with the Marauders, Elby earned multiple team and conference accolades.

Pope was Awarded NSIC Nothern Division All-Conference First-Team during his senior year.

Coach Richard Davis had this to say about Pope: "He seems like a great kid. I talked to a lot of the Bemidji State Football staff, including Coach Bolte, and they raved about how much of a handful Elby was when he played against BSU. They told me he is a great athlete and will be a great addition to the Axemen Family."
