This week our mantle story continued, we received a letter from Mike Smith of the charitable foundation we wrote to a while ago. Mike came to visit us to ask a few questions about who we are and what we do.
Ebony, Faith and Olivia found the letter on their desk when they came into school on Monday, they read it to the class who were all very excited.
The girls were super busy preparing for their performance but found the time to read the letter from Mike.
They shared the letter with the class who were happy to meet Mike. We are a team of story tellers called The Book House, a responsible team in Newcastle’s West End who are passionate about children’s books and reading. We have plans to emulate what Seven Stories have done in Ouseburn but for our part of the city.
We established who we are and designed a building, we discussed what we want to be know for.
We will visit Seven Stories next week to g t an idea of what they offer the city and what we can do to be like them.
Everyone is really enjoying reading!
Partner editing and parter work is a wonderful way to support each other. Here, Owen and Lewis are helping each other out.
We had to do a short assessment this week but it took no time at all!
Well done Olivia, super work!
Friday was Christmas Jumper Day and we also practised the nativity play. Everyone has an important role and it’s coming together nicely.
Mr Breheny came into help us out with PE, we played netball this week so here we are just being reminded of all the different positions.
We’ve tried to make the classroom a little more festive, we hope you like our snowflakes.
This week also so the performing arts groups put on their Christmas performance. This year it was School of Rock. It was absolutely amazing!
Super work everyone!
