What do you see in this neighborhood ??? Project Peace at I.S.291 BUSHWICK bY MASIAH MILTON

Daneen B. a student at I.S.291 says "there is too much violence in Bushwick"

We asked some children in I.S.291 Project Peace what they see in Brooklyn. Some of the answers where shocking but others were not. The children named things like murder, rats, fights, and even racism. These are serious things that no child should be afraid to see when they go outside. Some of our students even told us that there is too much bullying .We did body drawings to express the murder/violence issue.

"There is too much murder thats why i don't walk home alone" says a student at IS 291 Daniel M.

We also asked these same children what they would like to see in bushwick and they answered with "Black Lives Matter", peace, and justice.

"Black Lives Matter" written by Masiah Milton
"Fight the Power" Elizabeth M. a student at I.S.291

The terror and violence that we live through today has overcome most of our love and justice if we can rise through this we can get through things like racism, fighting , gangs, the government
