Monotype Printing Using Gelli and Flat surfaces

DIY Gelli Plates for the poor art teacher. Grab a brownie pan. Buy a box of Knox Gelatin. Empty 4 packets of gelatin into the pan. Add 2 cups of hot water. Let cool and set in the fridge for a couple of hours. When it is harder than Jello but not rock hard take it out of the fridge and begin the printing process.

DIY Flat Surfaces for the poor art teacher. Take an old student desk or bookcase. Unscrew the desk surface from the legs, or take the shelf away from the bookcase and use as a flat surface for monotype printing.

Get the ink ready. It will not need to be uber thick for the gelli and could be simply on a palate for painting details.
Adding layers with various colored backgrounds and stencils.
